Rapper and actor Ice-T, also known as Tracy Marrow, started his musical career in high school by playing in a group of friends' bands.
He made the decision to pursue a career in music because the experience was so fulfilling. He started his rap career after serving four years in the US Army. He was signed by Sire Records in the late 1980s, and after his debut album became the first hip-hop album to need a sticker warning of explicit content, he rapidly gained national notoriety.
