In the UK like many countries the media is governed by what should be an exterior body IPSO. The media is meant to be the fourth state. A fact based, impartial agency that tells the public "what it needs to know".When I started my journalist degree I honestly worried I was stepping into the devil's lair. A dramatic thought I know, but lies, deceit, manipulation and coercion are a defining description that you wouldnt be far wrong in making about main stream media now. I have to say though I was pleasantly surprised in my studies, in USW for three years all our tutors pumped into us, FACT, EVIDENCE and IMPARTIALITY. What you grow to realise, it is when, editors and news owners get involved, that truth becomes a commodity.You can make a formal complaint, to IPSO, the best kind of complaint is when you share the counter argument and provide evidence they should have given the opportunity to be seen.The news agencies are perpetuating a discriminatory gender bias against men and boys, that is a fact.What society, all service agencies would be far better positioned in doing is placing the need, domestic abuse, children's needs, homelessness, suicide prevention, drug, alcohol, etc at the centre of the focus, not gender.

The west has sold us their culture. The American Dream is about amassing lots of wealth and stopping at nothing to get it. Society judges who is successful or not based solely on those rules. The problem with playing that game is that the rules are stacked against you.The same applies to conflict resolution.
