This tour is a partial biography of Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter (September 4, 1981 – Present). Beyonce was born and raised in Houston. Although she lives in Los Angeles nowadays, and before that in New York City, Houston was her home for about her first twenty-one years. Beyonce was the lead singer for the most successful female rhythm and blues group of all time: Destiny’s Child. Destiny’s Child had its start as Girl’s Tyme in 1990. It was originally a sextet that was reduced to a quartet. After numerous name changes, Destiny’s Child formed in 1996. It remained a foursome, but with more personnel changes, into 2000. It would be a trio with the same members from 2000 until it broke up in 2006. Beyonce has won more MTV Video awards than any other artist. She has sold over 100 million records as a solo artist and 60 million with Destiny’s Child. As she is still an active singer, she continues to set new records. Additionally, she has achieved acclaim for her acting, also.

The tourist can let us know what time to begin. Normally, it will start at either 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, or 11:00 AM in downtown. Rush hour in Houston generally lasts until 9:00 AM. By starting the tour at 9:30 AM or later, tourists have time to drive into the central business district after rush hour. Parking in street level lots and parking garages are available.

We offer 4 tour packages:

    1. Between 3.1 and 4.0 hours. This tour does not have a lunch stop and stays within the I-610 Loop highway of the inner city.
    2. Between 4.1 and 5.0 hours. This tour includes a lunch stop at each person’s expense at one of Beyonce’s favorite restaurants and the elementary school that Beyonce attended that is located outside the I-610 Loop.
    3. Between 5.1 and 6.0 hours. This tour additionally includes the two later houses in far southwest Houston in which she lived as a teenager and the middle school that Beyonce attended.
    4. Between 6.1 and 7.0 hours. This tour additionally includes going to the second high school that Beyonce attended. The school was originally beyond Houston’s city limits until the city annexed the land. It also includes going to the neighborhood where Beyonce bought a multi-million dollar 9,000+ square-foot mansion for her mother. This tour goes beyond the second loop highway around Houston called Beltway 8 or the Sam Houston Tollway. This tour includes driving on two or three toll roads.

    1. The Montessori elementary school that she attended and took dance lessons.
    2. The elementary magnet music school that she transferred to attend when she was in about the 4th grade.
    3. The middle school that was a magnet for fine arts that she attended.
    4. The Houston High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where she initially attended high school.
    5. The high school that she later attended when her parents separated by the mid-1990s.
    6. The church where she attended and sang in the choir.
    7. The earliest house where Beyonce lived and her parents rented.
    8. The house in southeast Houston where she grew up in as child.
    9. The house the family rented in southwest Houston in the mid-1990s.
    10. The house that the family converted a garage into a recording studio in southwest Houston in the 1990s.
    11. The music studio where Destiny’s Child recorded “Bootylicious,” in 2001.
    12. The site of the former House of Dereon where she recorded.
    13. Lunch is at one of her three favorite restaurants. You choose:
      A. Frenchy’s Chicken. B. This Is It Soul Food. C. Pappadeaux.
    14. Lakewood Church, formerly known as the Compaq Center (1998 – 2003) and The Summit (1975 – 1998), where Destiny’s Child was an opening act for SWV in the summer of 1996 and for TLC on Wednesday, December 1, 1999, and headlined on Saturday, August4, 2001 and Friday, March 1, 2002.
    15. The Astrodome where Destiny’s Child performed at the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show on Sunday, February 18, 2001. This was the next to last year that the Houston Rodeo was held in the Astrodome.
    16. The Toyota Center where Destiny’s Child performed Saturday, August 5, 2005 and where they reunited to sing the national anthem before the NBA All-Star game on Sunday, February 19, 2006. Beyonce also performed here on Saturday, July 14, 2007, Saturday, July 4, 2009, and twice in 2013 including on Monday, July 15th and Tuesday, December 10th.
    17. NRG Stadium, formerly Reliant Stadium (2002 – 2014), where Beyonce sang the national anthem for Super Bowl XXXVIII on Sunday, February 1, 2004 and gave concerts for Rodeo Houston on Thursday, March 15, 2007, and twice in 2016 including on Saturday, May 7th and Thursday, September 22nd.
    18. The house that Beyonce bought for her mother in 2004. Her mom lived there from 2004 to 2012.
