Excellent food and presentation. The meals are explained by the waiter and instructions on how to savor are given. You must expect a bill of about 1000b/pax to be well fed as portions are quite small. The menu changes every month so anything I could tell you now about what I ate would soon be irrelevant. Though I will mention that the braised beef cheek curry was exceptionally good and the portion was generous compared to other snack meals. The menu was original and having lived here quite a while it's been very pleasing to revisit these Thai classics under a completely new angle.

Very tasty meal at Charmgang. Love the open kitchen concept producing incredibly tasty food and drinks. Everything was wonderful but some of the dishes were very spicy. Likely okay for Thai tastes but I was definitely hurting. Thank goodness for the desserts to cool things down a bit. Go for the crab tacos and pork jowl!

Great beef paneng curry, nice and aromatic with tender beef. Scallop appetiser tastes quite unique and decent. Highlight was the pork neck salad, very delightful. Crab omelette was just alright to me, had tried many better ones in Bangkok. Beef skewer is decent. Overall taste of this place is decent, however it is more modern Thai and fusion, not really authentic. Price is on high side, and one might say overpriced! To be honest with the hype for this place due to Michelin we were quite disappointed. Overhyped, overpriced and frankly doesn't live up to the hype.

Reviews

Charmgang in Bangkok is a culinary gem that offers excellent food with high-quality ingredients and creative twists on traditional Thai dishes. The restaurant has a casual yet vibrant vibe, with standout dishes like the braised beef cheek curry, duck taco starter, crab tacos, and pork jowl. The open kitchen concept allows diners to witness the preparation of incredibly tasty meals. While some dishes can be very spicy, the desserts provide a refreshing balance. Despite challenges with parking and pricing for some items, Charmgang remains a must-visit spot for modern Thai cuisine enthusiasts.

The best Thai fusion food in Bangkok is presented in this restaurant with quite high price. There are few tables with only one round booking, so booking in advance is necessary. I went there many times, the food was so delicious with high quality ingredients. I love every dish in this restaurant. You can park around restaurant, but it is still very small street. Another parking lot is in the hotel in the main street with 50 bath fee.

Summary - Good (spicy) food, fun and casualIt was a nice casual vibe walking into Charmgang. It was highly recommended by a friend who visits Bangkok frequently. The chef here used to work at Nahm, so you would expect strong, bold flavours.Food was good, the duck pancake was definitely memorable. The rest of the dishes were less so but still good. There were quite a few dishes that were not available, i think they try to use seasonal ingredients here. They don’t serve wine by the glass here, all per bottle. A lot of white wines were also not in stock.I liked the vibe in this place. The fact it was tucked in the back alley also added to it. It was fun, casual with good food. Great to come with a group so you can try all their dishes.I would definitely come back and hopefully they will have new dishes to try then!
