Do you mean the kayak pirate trip? Purchased through Kitty Hawk Kites? If so, DH and DS have done it twice. The first time, last summer (7/07), was great! They were one of the first tours out and it was just them and the guide. They had a fabulous time. Then, they did it when we were down for spring break this past March (08) and it was horrible! I guess a lot depends upon your guide.

Hi Leeby! I have seen the pirate boat going out everyday with a full boat of children. They are so cute dressed up. I think someone on this forum has been, but I am not sure. It sure looks like fun and everyone looks happy when they return.
Can't wait to hear about it. Wondering if I should book it for my kids.

Yep...that is what I am referring to. I am glad to hear they are doing well. There is also a new ghost walk tour on Wednesdays and there were around 35 people in a group walking around with witches yesterday eveing. Think I will put some scary stuff in my attic window. Anyone have any good and spooky ideas???? I saw the group gathering for the ghost walk a few weeks ago, Instead of putting something in the window, I think it would be fun to jump out behind the fence or bushes and scare them!

Sounds like it's a go then. My kids will be so surprised. I'd love to try the ghost walk also. But, that will have to wait until my kids are older.

Pirate Adventures on The Sea Gypsy is well recommended! From start to finish they interact with the children, well worth the money! I had read earlier on that someone saw it leaving the marina and it looked empty but the things is that some of the kiddos are all such little things and when it's "All Hands On Deck" Lol you can barely see them there sittin'! My kids had a blast!

My children are 9 and 11. Do you think they are too old for this pirate trip? It sounds as if it targets 4-7 year olds? True?

We have 2 11 year olds and 1 14 month old so no I don't think soo but my kids still build with Legos and Hot wheels Lol which is great with us. They had a great time and we enjoyed it as well. Taking pics and creating memories that's what it's all about! I will recommend going early due to the HOT Weather, especially with the "lil" ones! My cap would be at 11 because there were lots of tots on board! It was fun...Take care.

The pirate ship sounds like great fun!! Are the parents expected to go on the boat too? It sounds like it would be an opportunity for some great pictures....And if parents go on the boat, are we expected to pay as well?

They are well staffed and I don't think parents are required or expected to participate, but they can. Give them a call at: (252) 489-4881 $20 per person$12 for children under the age of 3Group Rate - $18 per person for groups of 30 or more.

Our gang just got back from there. They said it was great. And, YES, you must have one adult per child and the adult pays separately. I'm told there were 20 kids and 20 adults on board for their cruise. I think they said that was the max.
